Meeting with Congressman Bob Dold

I had the opportunity recently to sit down and chat with Congressman Bob Dold about the debilitating effects of Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid Arthritis I have experienced as a patient.  Our chat was very productive and we discussed the difficulty of getting properly diagnosed, obtaining medical care and treatment, rising costs of insurance premiums,  Medicare and the insurance payer’s drug pricing system, called a formulary.  A drug’s position in the formulary’s  tier pricing system determines the overall cost of the drug and which drugs are covered by your insurance plan.

In addition, we discussed the lengthy delays in waiting for Social Security claims and appeals to be properly reviewed. Many people are unable to work due to chronic pain and on the verge of being homeless. If you can’t work and have no savings you don’t have access to the tools and resources you need to survive and live a quality life.

I urge you today to research where your elected officials stand on the issues that are important to you.
