Tips for Obtaining Medical Care During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Connect with your doctor from the comfort of your home.

You may be concerned about getting an appointment to see your doctor for a prescription renewal, a procedure, or even just a follow-up. Many providers are now offering to patients’ telehealth (also called telemedicine, telecare, or virtual healthcare) and mobile apps to communicate with and monitor their patients.

So instead of visiting your doctor’s office you can share how you are feeling, discuss symptoms and ask any questions via phone, chat or video.

When communicating with your doctor via e-mail make certain the messages are encrypted.

Lab Testing:

Try to avoid visiting your local Urgent Care Facility to obtain lab testing. Instead to reduce risk of infection consider contacting your local lab such as LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics to schedule an appointment.

Also, talk to your pharmacy about home delivery and early refills:

Many pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens and numerous others are offering home delivery.
